Mr. Hansen

Mr. Hansen is in his twelfth year as an eighth grade Core teacher and beginning his first year of teaching P.E.  He is originally from New York and attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs earning a degree in sociology and anthropology. After graduating from Skidmore, he spent two years completing 3,400 hours of service-based work with the Americorps program, City Year. At City Year he worked at two public schools and an outstanding charter school called Academy of the Pacific Rim (APR). During two consecutive summers he led six-week community-service summer abroad programs in Ghana, West Africa, for high school students with the travel organization Experiment in International Living (EIL). Mr. Hansen and his wife, Elizabeth, moved to California during 2001. He received his teaching credential and Masters degree from John F. Kennedy University. 

In addition to teaching eighth-grade Core and P.E. at Lincoln Middle School, Mr. Hansen has coached both the boy's basketball team and an ultimate frisbee team. He is also an advisor for the Jr. Interact club. Jr. Interact, a national service-based organization, has an active club at AHS and high school students as well as LMS students run this exciting new middle school club. t
