Lincoln Middle School Information Nights and Tours

Welcome potential Lincoln Lions!  Please join us for our two Parent/Guardian Information Nights for incoming students scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, 2016 and Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the multi-use room from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Beginning in January 2017, every Tuesday and Thursday, we will be offering tours for you and your student.  We have seven of the same tours set up with a focus on 6th grade which include a brief overview of the subjects offered to 6th graders led by our Math, Science, CORE, Elective and PE teachers, along with a brief tour of the school.  We have a couple of tours focused on 7th grade and 8th grade subject areas also led by teachers and a brief tour of the school.  There are three tours focused on electives and clubs offered at Lincoln in which you will hear from the elective teachers and given a brief tour by our Outdoor Development Docents.  If you are interested in a student led tour by our Outdoor Development Docents and our Leadership students, we are offering two tours and the focus is Outdoor Learning and a General tour.

To sign up for one or more tours, click HERE for the survey and to RSVP.  We look forward to seeing you at one of our information nights and at our tours in January.

The 2017 Alameda Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Alameda Elks, will be held on February 4th, 9:30am-12pm, at Otis Elementary School, 3010 Fillmore Street (adjacent to Krusi Park). The registration deadline is February 2, 2017.

ELIGIBILITY: All participants must be in the 4th-9th grades, and must reside and/or attend school in the city of Alameda.

Depending on the number of entrants, there may be a written as well as an oral spelling bee. The written test will determine a group of 25-30 spellers to participate in the oral bee.

Prizes will be given to the winning spellers. The top winners of the Alameda Spelling Bee will be sponsored to participate in the Alameda County Spelling Bee, to be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Based on the outcome, we may send spellers to participate in the Alameda County Elementary Bee (Grades 4-6) and/or the Alameda County Junior High Bee (Grades 7-9).

The top two winners of the two Alameda County Bees will be sponsored to participate in the California State Spelling Bee, to be held on May 13th, in Stockton.

Additional information and rules will be e-mailed to participants in advance of the event.

Registration Deadline: February 2, 2017. For additional information—and to register—please visit http://alamedaspellingbee.org.
